As an Key Account Manager, Ontario (Contract) you will be responsible for driving volume and growing business portfolio in accounts and on annual, monthly, customer and brand basis. Work closely with Trade Development, supplier counterparts, field sales, customers and District Managers to manage business and programs. This role will cover Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan. The expected contract duration is 12 months.
**Reports To: Vice President, Apex Portfolio**
**Responsibilities**:
- Beat the plan and competition through net sales value, growing share and volume.
- Lead development of annual provincial plans for key accounts that state agreed brand and consumer strategies and insure the delivery of business goals.
- Manage and evaluate through Brand Marketing/Trade Development all customer promotional spending by account with regards to performance. If required, implement corrective business building actions.
- Promotional calendar implemented flawlessly in selected accounts based on A&P investment budget provided by supplier. Manage activity within the approved A&P budget.
- Ensure approval of new items/innovation brands and SKUs on a time timely basis
- Proactively participate with Brand Marketing/Trade Development and Sales Management in strategy briefing sessions while continuously providing feedback on program execution and effectiveness.
- Assist management in the development of account specific presentations as well as goals for distribution and merchandising promotion execution
- Analyze competitive activities and generate insights to create a competitive advantage. Prioritize pricing and revenue generating activities.
- Assign and achieve goals by account, ensure accurate sales forecasting activities.
- Relationships nurtured at every level with customer
- Provide on-going and current assessments of the results of plans by channel, key account, and individual customer
- Provide leadership, coaching and development of direct reports where applicable
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- 3-4 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Excellent computer skills, including advanced Excel and MS Office.
- Adaptive to collaboration tools and technology.
- Strong planning skills including risk/opportunities, trade planning, tenders and provincial business plans.
- Sales presentation skills; preparation and delivery.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Demonstrate sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent leadership capabilities with strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking capabilities.
- Strong Project Management skills.
- Capable of seeking out new ideas, exhibit initiative and be proactive.
- Managing complex customer relationships.
- Excellent Negotiation and Persuasive Selling Skills.
- Successful track record of working with the monopolies. Demonstrates relationships with key category and product teams.
- Detailed knowledge of Liquor Board marketing programs (Airmiles, Inspire), operating regulations, packaging, pricing policies, market trends and competition.
- Relevant cross-functional experience (finance, operations, IT, HR, project management, etc.).
- Some travel required.
