JOB DESCRIPTION:
As a Grow Intern, you will work closely with our dedicated team of cannabis growers to oversee and nurture vegetative and flowering cannabis plants. You will gain comprehensive knowledge about all production processes, Canadian Cannabis Regulations, and the science behind cannabis cultivation

**Responsibilities of Cultivation Interns**:

- Trim and diligently maintain the health of live plants throughout the growth cycle.
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of grow rooms, irrigation equipment, tools, and workstations.
- Monitor and observe cannabis plants, following integrated pest management and prevention practices.
- Handle concentrated materials, including cleaning agents, nutrient compounds, and other agronomic inputs.
- Assist in vegetative propagation and the maintenance of cuttings and seedlings.
- Contribute to research projects and participate in data collection.
- Maintain meticulous records and documentation for all production, cultivation, and research activities.
- Regularly calibrate and maintain equipment required for cultivation, production, and sanitation tasks.
- Collaborate with the processing team to produce and package dried cannabis and cannabis products.
- Foster a collaborative work environment by actively working with team members from various departments to ensure the production of high-quality cannabis products.
- Exudes a genuine passion for growing cannabis, plants, horticulture, and/or agriculture.
- Demonstrates enthusiasm for acquiring new skills and knowledge.
- Possesses keen attention to detail and strong problem-solving capabilities.

**Requirements**:

- Must be currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution, pursuing a degree in a related scientific field (biology, botany, chemistry, horticulture, agriculture, etc.).
- Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have been granted refugee status to qualify for internship funding.
- Local to the Edmonton area or possess reliable transportation for commuting.
- Comfortable working in warm and humid cultivation spaces with bright lights, while wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided.
- Capable of performing physical activities and/or repetitive movements throughout shifts.
- Lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs (22kg).
- Comfortable with squatting, bending, and kneeling while utilizing tools and performing cleaning and maintenance tasks.
- Willing to wear personal protective equipment as necessary, including but not limited to sanitary clothing covers, gloves, mask, respirator, and/or eye protection.
- Fully vaccinated against Covid-19, with proof of vaccination.

**Hours**:40 hours per week until September. Part-time opportunites for the fall term may be available after the first 4-months.

**Shifts**: a typical shift is 9:00-5:30 5 days/week. Early of late shifts may be accommodated. Shifts options may be one of the following:

- Monday to Friday
- Sunday to Thursday
- Tuesday to Saturday

Hours and shifts are flexible. We will also work around your school schedule when school begins in the fall.

Contract length: 4 months
Part-time hours: 40 per week

**Salary**: From $15.00 per hour
