**Summary**
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for working with the day-to-day activities of the dispatch team. The coordinator will be responsible for the scheduling of drivers, equipment, or vehicles for the conveyance of freight while ensuring operational efficiency and profitability. The coordinator's responsibilities also consist of assigning drivers to trucks and providing accurate directions and required instructions to pickup and delivery facilities. The role includes providing support in a fast-paced, high-call volume office environment and will assist in completing operational and data entry tasks as necessary in a timely and accurate manner. In addition, they will be responsible for communicating results to the Operations Manager.

**Job Duties**
- Perform planning and coordination of customer orders using TMS system Accellos and other related software, while meeting customer expectations for any or all divisions
- Ensure full utilization of available trucks and trailers and drivers
- Communicate workload shortage which will impact the full utilization of resources to the team and Operations Manager
- Solicit, negotiate and acquire spot market opportunities with load brokers using Loadlink software provided by the company
- Perform ongoing evaluation and review of transportation arrangements for constant improvement opportunities
- Ensure profitability when planning and coordinating trip plans using TMS, PC Miler and other related tools to determine the rate per mile
- Ensure trip plans are compliant with HOS regulations, using TMS and driver log information provided on the web portal tool (Omnitracs)
- Effectively communicate on a timely basis with internal departments all matters relating to the timely and effective execution of transportation services
- Ensure that plans are followed as expected and develop corrective actions in conjunction with other team members as required
- Maintain a positive relationship with outside suppliers and clients.
- Ensuring the loading of transportation units is scheduled and executed as planned
- Review all trip plans in planned status with the driver manager to ensure success
- Assisting drivers, the Driver Manager and Operations Manager in troubleshooting and resolving day-to-day issues that may arise
- Monitoring service levels to ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded
- Supporting and updating the Company logistics plan daily
- Track key metrics, including miles, revenue per mile, margin per mile
- Other related duties as assigned.

**Skills/Requirements**
- 2 years of experience in Logistics Planning.
- 2+ years in a dispatch role within the transportation industry
- Good understanding of the technical process of supply chains.
- Quick critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Able to multitask and prioritize workload
- Strong knowledge of Hours-of-Service regulations
- Good knowledge of truck routing, lanes and North American geography
- Microsoft Office
- Transportation Management Software (Accellos)
- Mileage and routing software (PC Miler)
- Hours of Service (Omnitracs)
- Satellite tracking software
- Truckmate an asset

Monday to Friday, 8-hour shift.
