THE ROLE

The Sales Manager, Canada role is a results and action oriented position, responsible for customer management activities across multiple retail channels. He/She will drive distribution of existing and new products and execute against the merchandising/pricing/promotion standards within the go-to-market strategy at assigned customers. He/She will have a significant amount of freedom to demonstrate high-impact decision making, the ability to translate and execute against key strategic plans and to showcase customer relationship management capabilities. Finally, the Sales Manager, Canada should be able to demonstrate a creative, problem-solving approach to the business, coupled with outstanding decision-making abilities, in order to flourish in an environment with limited resources. This role has a significant impact on our business and will have an opportunity to broaden responsibilities in the future.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

The Sales Manager, Canada will:

- Deliver financial objectives (sales growth and trade spend management) at assigned list of customers.
- Execute the Sales priorities (product, pricing, placement, promotion) at assigned list of customers.
- Collaborate with the Demand Planning team to inform the customer forecast by item.
- Build robust annual business plans for all assigned customers.
- Be a master collaborator and build a strong sense of team internally and externally with our Retail Partners
- Build strong customer relationships based on credibility and trust
- Collaborate in the development of account-specific promotional items and displays
- Analyze and understand key data sources (syndicated and account specific)
- Assess customer data and integrate into selling stories
- Work with other departments in the company & demonstrate teamwork & collaboration to help achieve all business goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Experience:

- 7-10 years of Sales experience required (Consumer Packaged Goods preferred)
- 4-year degree or better in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

- Familiarity with key business processes at major retailers across Canada
- Established relationships with various levels of management at major retailers across Canada
- Great analytical skills and ability to lend insights through key findings
- Excellent communication / collaboration / judgment skills
- Articulate presentation skills and a colorful storyteller
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work within tight timeframes and deadlines
- Ability to work independently to identify business needs and opportunities
