**ABOUT US**
The Sid Williams Theatre is located on the unceded traditional territory of the K’ómoks First Nation - the Sahtloot, Sasitla, Ieeksun and Puntledge peoples who have been care takers of this land since time immemorial - in the region known today as the Comox Valley and downtown Courtenay, BC.
A registered charitable organization, the Sid Williams Theatre Society operates the 500-seat performing arts centre balancing multiples roles as a performance facility for community groups, a professional venue for commercial events, and as an arts presenter offering a curated season of select performances.

**JOB SUMMARY**
The Marketing and Development Coordinator (MDC) works with the General Manager and Manager of
Event Services to execute the marketing, communications, and outreach goals of the organization.
The MDC is a critical team member who will coordinate the strategic marketing and specific promotions of SWTS’ annual performance season and community engagement activities, and will work towards building our brand and relationships with community and key stakeholders
**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
Marketing and Communications
- Organize activities in accordance with communications strategy and work plan developed by communications contractor o Liaise with agents/managers/artists/rental clients to gather promo materials and approvals o Coordinate artist promo activities for SWTS events (schedule interviews, request video messages, etc)
- Coordinate development of digital and print materials with graphic design contractor
- Content development - work in collaboration with communications contractor to create content
(text, photos, video, etc) that aligns with our organizational priorities and values, matches our brand voice and tone, and communicates effectively with intended audiences
- Website management - work in partnership with communications contractor and web developer to ensure website functions properly, plus create and publish content (including text, images, and video)
- Brand management - provide guidance to staff to ensure consistent and effective brand communication both internally and externally
- Generate quarterly marketing reports for management and board of directors
Sponsorship & Fundraising
- Research and provide input on development of sponsorship opportunities
- Liaise with sponsors and internal departments to administer sponsorship deliverables and provide support for sponsorship / partnership related activities
- Process in-kind donations including tracking, gift acceptance and gift acknowledgement
- Compile materials for grant reports
Outreach
- Develop and execute membership communication and activities
- Coordinate delivery of outreach activities
- Represent SWTS at various community events
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
Education and Experience
- Post-secondary degree or certificate (or working towards completion of) in marketing, communications, business management, or related field, OR
- Minimum of one (1) year of demonstrated relevant work experience
Knowledge & Skills
- Ability to move between independent self-directed tasks and collaborative work
- Excellent interpersonal, networking, and collaborative skills
- Commitment to continuous learning
- Possess a keen eye for detail
- Superior written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc)
- Experience working with a website CMS (content management system)
- Ability to edit and code basic HTML
- Ability to work some evenings and weekends to capture event content and fulfill sponsorship activities
- Experience creating content and posting to a social media account on behalf of an organization
- Strong organizational skills and experience working in a deadline driven environment
- Current BC driver’s license and ready access to a vehicle
**DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc)
- Possesses a meaningful understanding and genuine commitment to diversity, inclusion, anti
- racism, and equity
- Experience in arts and culture or non-profit sector
- Experience with social media scheduling software (e.g. Hootsuite)
- Experience with content creation software like Canva
- Experience with video editing software like Adobe Premiere Pro, Wondershare Filmora, Final Cut Pro, etc)
- Experience in marketing to diverse audiences, including multi-cultural or cross-cultural communities
- Experience with CRM (customer relationship management) and database programs
**Employment type**:Regular Full Time
**Work location**: Hybrid of on-site and remote
**Hours & schedule**: 35 hours per week. The SWTS operates seven (7) days a week with most events taking place Wednesday to Sunday. Hours will be flexible and responsive to schedule of events.
