**About the Opportunity**:
The Quality and Process Improvement Specialist leads the organization’s quality improvement and process improvement initiatives and ensures alignment with strategic priorities, and best practices. This role champions a culture of continuous improvement by facilitating process optimization, data-driven decision-making, and patient/client-centred approaches.
The Specialist provides expertise in process improvement, Lean/Six Sigma methodologies, and quality improvement to improve service delivery, enhance program outcomes, and maintain accreditation readiness. The Specialist will also have responsibility for Accreditation, including organizational oversight of policies, procedures, and routine reporting. Accreditation experience is preferred but not mandatory. Additionally, this role will:
- Coordinating system-wide quality initiatives aligned with annual priorities, facilitating needs assessments, root cause analyses, and process mapping.
- Monitoring quality improvement initiatives, including project and outcome tracking, preparation of summary reports, and preparation of board reports.
- Responsible for the implementation of KidsAbility’s Quality Framework, including leading system-wide quality improvement planning.
- Collecting, verifying, and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, maintaining high data quality and reporting key performance indicators to stakeholders.
- Conducting workflow analyses, identifying opportunities to streamline processes, reduce waste, and improve care outcomes, then implementing best practices for standardization.
- Delivering training sessions on Lean principles, root cause analysis, patient safety, and data literacy, empowering staff to identify and act on improvement opportunities.
- Providing staffing support for the Quality Improvement Committee (work plan development, agenda setting, meeting facilitation, documentation) and collaborating with managers to design appropriate metrics.
- Using project management tools (MS Project, Visio, Jira) to track milestones, facilitate stakeholder engagement, and manage multiple priorities.
- Consult with directors, managers and teams to design appropriate metrics and reports to track improvements in systems-level priorities, and use real-time data to manage, steer, and evaluate quality improvement projects.
- Support quality messaging at all levels as required.
- Lead continuous quality improvement (CQI) projects, defining scope, objectives, and timelines.
**More About You**:
To qualify, applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Quality Improvement, or a related field, with course work in quantitative/qualitative research and statistics.
In addition to:
- Formal training or certification in Lean, Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt), or other process improvement frameworks, and demonstrated expertise with PDSA cycles, process mapping, and root cause analysis.
- knowledge of healthcare legislation such as PHIPA and the Excellent Care for All Act.
- A proven track record of leading interdisciplinary teams to implement quality initiatives, supported by excellent communication, facilitation, and project management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, MS Project), data visualization platforms, and incident reporting systems (e.g., RL Datix).
- Strong organizational skills, the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, and well-developed interpersonal skills for engaging diverse groups.
