**What can you expect in this role?**
As a member of Enterprise Risk Management which is the Second Line Risk Management function, the primary objective of the **Enterprise Risk Quality Assurance**team is to identify opportunities to mitigate enterprise risk. We work to enhance the quality of risk management practices through comprehensive, independent assessments.
- Evaluate design and effectiveness of cross-functional processes & controls to mitigate enterprise risk.
- Conduct strategic project risk assessments to support successful implementations and sustainability.
- Identify trends impacting the achievement of business objectives.
- Promote scaling of best practices and cross-functional collaboration across the organization.
- Validate compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
- Provide oversight, constructive challenge, and consultative support to the First Line Risk Management.
A **Specialist, Enterprise Risk Quality Assurance**will work with the team to conduct quality reviews, strategic project risk assessment and policy compliance testing according to the annual plan and established methodology. We strive to ensure integration of risk management and quality assurance with business strategy and performance for effective value delivery.
- Understand the business strategy and goals to identify risks that may impact achievement of these objectives.
- Define the engagement objective and scope,
- Interview stakeholders and analyze documentation,
- Assess risks, controls, and processes and provide practical recommendations that balance effective risk management with cost and implications to the business.
- Report findings to Senior Leadership and negotiate management actions to address the gaps.
- Monitor and constructively challenge the management action plans.
The team supports quarterly and annual reporting to the Management Risk Committee, provides oversight to the First Line Risk Management and collaborates with other risk and control groups. We foster the awareness of the company’s risk management practices by proving advisory and consultative support. This role will report into the Director, Enterprise Risk Quality Assurance.
**What do you bring to the role?**
- Undergraduate degree or diploma in Business, or related discipline, 5+ years’ broad enterprise experience in the P&C insurance or financial services industry,
- Relevant professional designation(s) such as CIA, CPA, CIP, FCIP, CRM or equivalent
- Experience in audit, quality assurance, risk/control monitoring and reporting,
- Strong data analysis, organizational, project management, process improvement and problem-solving skills with the ability to resourcefully gather information, analyze critically, and cut through complexities to arrive at workable solution to deliver value to the stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership, strategic thinking with ability to negotiate and influence decisions,
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to present to all levels in the organization,
- Customer focused with ability to build and maintain positive and trusting relationships with stakeholders, while delivering value to the organization.
- Quick learner with ability to adapt to changing priorities and execute within tight deadlines,
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word,
- Continually demonstrate company values and professionalism in all interactions,
- Highly engaged, positive attitude, strong collaboration and team building skills.
Salary Range: $69,000 - $127,000
