Outside Sales Representative

We, **Mac's Traders Inc.**, are a family-owned and operated **Scrap Metal Recycling facility**. We are seeking to hire a reliable, energetic, and self-motivated individual to join our team.

Located in Langley, we are a well-established buyer of various types of Scrap Metal. At our facility, we handle an array of client accounts, including sources such as off-site pickup services, and in-person delivered purchasing.

We have one opening for an **Outside Sales Representative**. This title would be the base for hiring but may grow and change as you move up within the company. The role itself is a bit outside the norm, as we are purchasing material from our clients, in comparison to seeking clients to buy our product.

Previous sales experience is a requirement for this role. You must have high self-motivation, as well as exceptional interpersonal and computer skills. Previous industry experience is an asset but not required - we will put you through online and in-person training. You must be willing to put in the work to understand and accurately assess various types of metals. Our industry is comparable to learning a new language.

**Starting/Training wage for this position is $23-$26 per hour **(*performance and experience dependent). **Please note, that wages can increase rapidly in a short amount of time depending on personal growth and job performance.** Upon completion of the Employee’s first 90 days of employment, they shall be eligible for **Medical/Dental benefits**, among other additional benefits.

Our facility is open Monday to Saturday and is closed on both Sundays and statutory holidays. **The available position would be Monday-Friday, from 9 am-5 pm, or 8 am-4 pm. **(all applicants must be able to work these hours as described).
- **PLEASE NOTE**:_ **Dust and dirt are a common occurrence in this Industrial workplace environment. Aspects of this job will involve you needing to hold/check over dirty objects. Should this be of any issue to you for personal and/or health reasons, this may not be the job for you.**

**Position Requirements**:

- Current and established residence in the Fraser Valley area
- A valid driver’s license & personal vehicle **Personal vehicle use compensation would be provided as an Outside Sales Representative. After 90 days of employment, discussions would be had regarding a company-supplied vehicle**:

- Location sharing via GPS fleet tracking unit will be required during on-the-road sales
- Fluent in English both written and verbal

**Responsibilities & Duties**
- Learn and understand the Scrap Metal Industry and material grading
- Perform a combination of inside and outside sales with a primary focus on being outside of the office. Meeting customers, building relationships, and developing new business
- Stay informed about industry and market trends, incorporating best practices into sourcing strategies
- Track all quotes and initiate follow-ups
- Work closely with our Office Team and Outer Works Yard
- Travel within your defined territory and build relationships and activity
- Other tasks and responsibilities as may be required from time to time

**Experience Qualifications**
- Secondary schooling required
- Minimum 3 years’ relevant inside/outside sales experience
- Competency in Microsoft Office
