Wigwamen Incorporated is seeking an applicant who is innovative, self-motivated, and highly organized to fill a fulltime, Program Manager - Housing and Homelessness, contract position.

This is a supervisory position, which will be responsible for up to ten staff members, with the main responsibilities being assigning tasks, day-to-day management, motivating, and supporting staff/client’s wellbeing, encouraging positive social change/innovation, and meeting the standards of our housing, homelessness, and support service program areas and delivery outcomes.

The Program Manager will be responsible for overseeing the activities of the Aboriginal Supports to Daily Living Program, Follow-up Supports Program, Cultural Supports Program and the Aboriginal Housing Support Centre (AHSC), which are municipal, provincial, federal government funded programs.
- Post-secondary education in Social Work, Social Services, or an equivalent of 3+ years Supervising and/or Managing employees and/or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated experience in project management, communication, leadership, and case management
- Demonstrated ability to work with or without direct supervision in a team environment
- Strong working knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Human Rights Code and Employment Standards Act
- Strong understanding of and commitment to working within a community development framework
- Understanding of the housing and homelessness service system in the City of Toronto
- Highly developed interpersonal skills honed through experience in conflict resolution, crisis intervention/prevention, counseling, coaching, advocacy, and the ability to maintain appropriate boundaries
- Experience designing, developing, managing, and evaluating programs and monitoring budgets
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal communication, report writing, facilitation and computer skills
- Knowledge of, and experience working within the urban Indigenous community is a definite asset
- Working knowledge of an Indigenous and/or other language would be an asset
- A vehicle, valid driver's license, and adequate insurance coverage

**Responsibilities will include**:
Project and Service Management:

- Ensure the effective development, implementation, ongoing monitoring and continuous improvement of policies, standards and processes for our housing, homelessness, and support services program
- Ensuring compliance with Federal, Provincial and Municipal legislation and regulations
- Staying current on best practices as they relate to housing, homelessness, and support services
- Ensuring a high level of housing, homelessness and support services are provided and delivered
- Ensuring that accurate records are maintained of all the housing, homelessness and support services and programs
- Ensuring that accurate and timely reporting is provided
- Ensuring that requests for housing and related support services are dealt with in a professional and effective manner
- Working collaboratively with team members, partners, and suppliers to ensure that housing and homelessness standards are established and maintained
- Ensuring that strategies to mitigate risk and improve the program are identified, recommended, and implemented
- Manage, direct, and support the daily activities of staff (E.g., attendance, client/staff safety, performance, deliverables, targets, etc.)
- Regularly monitor and improve service delivery targets, workloads, and outcomes
- Create an environment that promotes and encourages change and innovation
- Build and support a sustainable and productive relationship with staff, management, the community, and Wigwamen clients
- Ensure staff follow organizational policies and procedures
- Participate in external committees and liaise with regional service providers as necessary
- Liaise with community supports and partners (E.g., mental health and addiction service providers, and family members) as required

Communications:

- Ensure that staff members, clients, volunteers, partners, and suppliers have the necessary information and supports
- Ensuring that effective and productive relationships are established and maintained
- Ensuring that all communication is conducted in a professional and respectful manner
- Represent Wigwamen in a manner that reflects our values, vision, and mission
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with program stakeholders

This is a full-time contract position that includes a comprehensive benefits package, and has the potential for renewal.
