Walter Surface Technology is rapidly growing and is seeking an Supply Planner/Buyer. **Job Summary** The objective of this role will be to ensure continuous flow of supply to support expected customer service level while maintaining inventory and logistics costs in budget targets. The Supply Planner/Buyer is responsible for the end-to-end supply management for specific products categories assign to him with the objective of ensuring the right inventory is in the right place at the right time in support of supply chain metrics (Fill rate, inventory turns/coverage, logistics costs ). Through internal and external collaboration, the Supply Planner/Buyer will collect information on demand and supply that will be used to adjust forecast, inventory parameters, review production priority with supplier and shipment mode in order to prevent inventory shortage and/or overstock. **Responsibilities**: - Validate forecasts based on sales history and information received from sales, marketing, and R&D teams. - Analyze demand history exception and make proper adjustments - Manage inventory levels and parameters to ensure continuity of supply, suitable inventory turn and expected customer service level. - Analyze suggested purchase order (PO) quantities, review and approve the purchases orders according to the weekly replenishment schedule - Confirm purchase orders and delivery with suppliers. - Create transfer orders for branches and other locations (Brazil, Mexico ) - Maintain POs details (ETA date, confirmation ship date, etc.) - Provide shipment instructions to suppliers and logistic specialist - Daily follow-up with the suppliers and freight forwarder to ensure on time delivery - Manage backorder situation and develop recovery plans with suppliers. - Work with suppliers in order to identify solutions when issues arise; - Monitor and report pro-actively potential supply and stock availability issue. - Portfolio master data maintenance and update in ERP system to ensure accurate information in the system. - Assist support and provide backup coverage for all Supply Chain team members. - Update and create reports according to management needs. - Intervene in situations requiring problem solving / conflict by recommending viable solutions and a favorable decision. - Optimize operations in its field by the establishment of best practices and enhanced use of the ERP system functionality. - Perform other responsibilities and duties related to this position **Skills and Abilities**: - Concerned with maintaining a high level of customer service at all times - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail. - Structured and consistent in order to sustain the weekly order management process - Leadership skills, accountability and responsibility, teamwork and collaboration, planning and organizing - Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and persuasively at all levels, - Demonstrates professional rigor, independence and resourcefulness. - Comfortable working under pressure with multiple simultaneous deliverables. - Dynamic, enthusiastic, motivated and positive. - Autonomous/independent with the abilities to lead and implement process improvement **Experience and Knowledge**: - University degree in supply chain, logistics, industrial management, - At least 3-5 years of multidisciplinary experience in the areas of purchasing, demand/supply management, MRP/DRP, inventory and logistics management - Experience in international purchasing - Knowledge in logistics and transport is an asset - Skilled with business ERP software, ideally Tecsys - Advanced in Excel and intermediate in Access - APICS certification (CPIM, CSCP) is an asset - Bilingual (French and English), verbal and written. **Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent **Benefits**: - Casual dress - Company events - Dental care - Disability insurance - Employee assistance program - Employee stock purchase plan - Extended health care - Language training provided - Life insurance - On-site gym - On-site parking - Paid time off - RRSP match - Tuition reimbursement - Vision care Schedule: - 8 hour shift - Day shift - Monday to Friday Supplemental pay types: - Bonus pay
