**SUMMARY**

Buyer responsibilities consist of building of vendor relations and purchasing of items according to predefined product lines. This primary mandate of this position is to ensure that quality products are purchased to support the overall needs of the business; review daily demand requirements, and place purchase orders as needed to meet requirements.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Analytical**
- Analyze inventory needs based on sales trends and inventory levels.
- Review sales forecasts and provide information to sales department as requested.
- Place purchase orders ensuring flow of inventory that guarantees optimum stock levels and meets turnover goals.
- Provide purchasing, planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends as requested.

**Administrative**
- Create and process purchase order.
- Gather all pertinent information and specifications for each assignment.
- Follow up with vendors on orders.
- Resolving billing discrepancies on orders with vendors.

**Customer Service and Partnership**
- Collaborate with the different departments across the organization (sales, technical, finance and others as needed).
- Monitor and evaluate vendor performance and manage vendor relationships.
- Maintain sustainable vendor relationships that ensure timely deliveries and most competitive pricing.
- Ensure that discontinued and defective merchandise is returned, and documentation is processed for the warehouse and finance department.
- Communicate any product changes and discontinued items to the proper stakeholders.

**REQUIREMENTS**

**_Experience/ Qualifications_**

College or University degree in areas such as Supply Chain Operations and Supply Chain Management along with 3 to 5 years previous experience in a Buyer role; or 10+ years of experience in a Buyer role.

**_Other Requirements_**
- Able to work both in an office and remotely. This role is currently hybrid.
- Ability to speak, write and read in both French and English.
- Ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize in a highly fast paced environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel and Outlook).

**_Additional Experience/ Qualifications Considered an Asset_**
- Mechanically Inclined or Knowledge of industrial parts
- SCMP designation
- Experience with ERP System functionality - preferably working within the Microsoft D365 and/ or Microsoft Dynamics AX environment.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $48,000.00-$55,000.00 per year

- 8 hour shift
