**Job Opening**

**Summary/Objective**

The Freight Forwarding Agent will work as an associate to the Operations Team supporting the execution and coordination of air, ocean and multi-modal freight logistics. Responsible for learning how to develop appropriate modes of transport and viable routings for international cargoes. Duties include but are not limited to: calculating operational costs, quoting to potential and current customers; obtaining firm bookings of cargo on vessels, trucks, and or aircraft; notifying all relevant authorities, coordinating collection, securement, carriage and final delivery of cargo; coping with and resolving logistic challenges; preparing and submitting shipping and related documentation to ensure safe, legal, successful movement of cargoes from origin to destination; invoicing customers, collecting freight and approving payments to partners.

**Essential Job Functions**
- Support the team with customer service to internal and external customers.
- Support the team by assisting with process documents and information through the established export system.
- Support the team with the processing of shipments via air, vessel and truck carriers and interacting with any government agency associated with the import or export.
- Perform all functions within defined time frames for processing the delivery of cargo, and invoicing the client.
- Assist with replies to overseas inquiries in a clear, concise and timely manner.
- Maintain clear, oral and written communication with clients.
- Provide excellent and timely customer service by proactively informing clients of the status of their shipments, answering questions and referring advanced technical questions to the appropriate staff member.
- Adhere to all international shipping regulations.
- Advise supervisor of any problems or irregularities discovered within assigned transactions.
- Obtain and Maintain Regulatory Training requirements in IATA DG / IMO DG / ITAR / BIS / ERAP / CIFFA CERTIFICATIONS

**Qualifications**
- Summary of Experience and Education
- High School Diploma or College degree required.
- Associates Degree preferred.
- Minimum four to six years of related experience.
- One to three years industry experience preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
- Accurate typing skills and/or data entry skills.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using units of Canadian, U.S. or international currency, weight, volume, and distance measurements.
- Responds promptly and professionally to customer needs and solicits customer feedback to improve performance.
- Ability to read, write and speak English and French fluently.
- Read, analyze and interpret complex procedures or regulations and write correspondence and procedural documents.
- Recommends solutions to common problems.
- Gives and welcomes feedback, and contributes to building a positive team spirit.
- Consistently at work and on time.

Persons holding this position must have strong communication and organizational skills, and an ability to interact and work with others. They must be able to work under time constraints and deadlines.

Work Environment:
Starting salary commensurate with experience
