Bilingual Accounting Manager

Imperial Dade Canada, leading national distributor, has a job open in Montreal. The Accounting Manager will be a member of a dynamic accounting team comprised of multi-taskers and problem solvers. The team handles post-deal integration accounting related to new acquisitions, while maintaining the appropriate internal controls and policies. Leadership skills, understanding of accounting principles, and ability to close gaps in business processes will be keys to success.
Imperial Dade is the leading distributor of foodservice packaging, facilities maintenance supplies and equipment in the U.S and Canada. As a provider of customized supply chain solutions, the company serves customers in many business-to-business market segments including supermarkets, healthcare facilities, universities, and restaurants. **Responsibilities**:
- Collaborate with the integration team during after the acquisition of a target company to ensure the appropriate setup of the accounting books and subsequent purchase price accounting.
- Participate in month-end activities, including review of journal entries and reconciliations.
- Build and review workflows, implement processes to optimize efficiency of reporting and put in place internal controls.
- Contribute to the standardization of accounting processes between business units and assist in the implementation of best practices, mitigation of risks and cost control.
- Assist with integration of acquired companies’ transactional services onto Imperial Dade Canada’s systems and processes.
- Review deliverables prepared by staff and develop skills sets of a team of accountants.
- Enforce compliance with Imperial Dade Canada’s Accounting and Reporting Guidelines, US GAAP and Internal Controls over Financial Reporting and Accounting.
- Support the implementation of new company standards and policies and participate in other initiatives related to assigned position.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- CPA preferred.
- 7-10 years of accounting experience
- Effective communication skills with an ability to interact with a variety of team members in various departments and levels of management throughout the company.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Must be a self-starter, results driven, and capable of working autonomously with mínimal supervision in a dynamic environment.
- Team-oriented and an ability to take initiative.
- Good analytical skills.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Access).
- Bilingual (French & English) required.
