Reporting to the shift Lead Hand, the primary function of this position is to control equipment in an industrial manufacturing process. System includes a bark-burning industrial furnace, 125 HP Clever Brookes Boiler, MEC Rotary Drum Dryer and Grinding & Pelleting Equipment.

**Responsibilities**:

- Monitor production line equipment
- Operate GTS wet fuel biomass furnace and Brookes boiler
- Dry wood products in rotary drum dryer
- Monitor conveyors, hammer mills, pelleting and cooling equipment
- Perform pellet quality tests, moisture sample tests, particle size tests required to meet production targets and standards
- Regulate material levels in dry fibre bins
- Follow all safety and lockout procedures for the equipment being used. Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on the job and maintain it in good working condition
- Proactive communication with other operators and key Pellet Plant personnel
- Strive to meet production requirement.
- Work to ensure pellet quality meets or exceeds contract targets
- Perform other duties, as requested by Chief Stationary Engineer, Lead Hand, Maintenance Lead or Pellet Mill Manager

**Qualifications and Skills Required**:

- Commitment to a safe work culture
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent professional experience
- 1 - 2 years of experience working in an industrial environment is an asset
- Knowledge of operating mill equipment, systems and mill production methods is an asset
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical repair concepts is an asset
- Knowledge of Mill production methods
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects without losing focus on the details
- Ability to work independently in a timely basis
- Ability to work in a team environment and to communicate at all levels

**This full-time position requires 12 hour rotating shifts; 4 days on/4 days off; days/nights. While performing duties, the employee could be exposed to seasonal weather conditions; moving mechanical equipment; high and precarious work locations; dust or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; high voltage electrical equipment where there is risk of electrical shock; confined spaces. The noise level in some areas of the work environment can be loud, requiring hearing protection.**

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 42 per week
