**About the Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Maintenance and Operations Assistant Manager, and/or designate, performs a variety of skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled tasks related to the upkeep of Nova Scotia Health properties (Facilities and grounds) and related infrastructure, including but not limited to operation, maintenance and service requirements of all grounds and facility related infrastructure and related equipment, aiding other maintenance and operations trades and other related duties as required.

The Building Maintenance Worker may be required to fill in for certified trades when required and also maintains and follows operational, equipment, tools, and safety codes, standards, and procedures. Duties may include corrective maintenance on BAS-Monitor/Operate/Maintain, replacing pullies, performing preventative maintenance with the more skilled PMs requiring competency (electrical panel, thermal scanning, and backflow preventer testing), etc.

The Building Maintenance person will exhibit leadership and sound professional judgement and initiative while working within the framework of the objectives of the service and the organization as a whole. Travel to other sites may be required. The incumbent will complete all employer-requested upgrades and/or educational training as required.

**About You**:
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Journeyperson in a recognized trade
- Consideration may also be given to 4th Class Power Engineers or higher.
- Able to crack fill, paint, and build things (i.e. build shelving, small carpentry projects, use basic carpentry hand tools and power tools), fix small electrical issues, unplug a sink, take a drain apart, competent in running small equipment.
- Knowledge of a Safety Permit System
- A minimum of 3 months experience in a recognized maintenance trade.
- Ability to operate various motor vehicles, machinery, tools, and equipment related to the work environment.
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.

- Permanent Full-time position, 75 Hours Bi-weekly

**Compensation and Benefits**:
$27.44 - 32.65 Hourly
