Under ChildCareBC and the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care Agreement, B.C. is on the path to achieving this goal, with important investments to reduce child care fees for parents, build more licensed spaces, and increase supports for those working in the sector. The Director is responsible for ensuring that legislation, policies and regulations are correctly interpreted, eligibility decisions are fair and consistent, and accountability is maintained through the delivery of several grant funding programs. The position has oversight of a significant budget and a growing team of over 30 employees. To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated experience leading in a fast-paced, front-line client service environment, either in the private or public sector, with a commensurate level of experience managing program resources, human resources, and client relations. You are a top performer with a high level of personal integrity, a strong work ethic, and an exceptional communicator with a keen understanding of leading and implementing strategy, collaboratively, within operations. **Job Requirements**: - Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. - A minimum of three (3) years of experience leading a service-based operation, including the determination of goals, objectives, and performance measures. - A minimum of three (3) years of experience in managing a diverse combination of internal and external relationships. - A minimum of two (2) years of experience supervising large teams, including management and entry level staff, in a service delivery organization - Experience managing projects and delivering results. - Experience leading and resolving complex client or stakeholder issues. - Experience working directly with other programs, agencies, special interest groups, and/or clients in the delivery of public programs. - Experience working in the child care, early learning, education, and/or related health and human services sector. - Experience leading in a unionized environment and with collective agreements. - Experience in complex decision-making applied in front-line service delivery. - Financial data analytics experience in a regulated government sector. **About this Position**: An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
