Prime Management Group Inc. is pleased to be partnering with Hospice of Elgin in the important recruitment of a dynamic and visionary Fund Development Manager to join its mission-driven team. Reporting to the Executive Director, this proactive leader will develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy, ensuring the financial sustainability of the hospice and its transformative programs.
The Fund Development Manager will lead with heart, overseeing major gifts, grants, annual giving, planned giving, direct mail, and third-party events. They will secure essential resources to sustain Hospice of Elgin’s mission, all while building genuine, lasting relationships with donors, corporate partners, and foundations. Their exceptional communication skills and passion for philanthropy will inspire trust and foster a deep sense of connection among all stakeholders.
Working collaboratively, this individual will mentor and guide a small, dedicated team, fostering a culture of compassion, innovation, and teamwork. The Fund Development Manager will lead impactful campaigns, donor initiatives, and events to enhance the hospice’s visibility and strengthen its bonds within the community. With creativity and care, they will oversee public-facing events, and uphold the highest standards of donor stewardship and compliance while advancing the hospices’ mission to serve the community with compassion and care.
A minimum of five years of senior experience in leading and managing comprehensive fundraising initiatives for non-profit organizations, with a strong focus on cultivating major gifts and inspiring donor engagement.
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with a proven ability to build trust, foster relationships, and lead high-performing teams through collaboration and inspiration.
Bachelor’s or post-secondary education related to fundraising, sales, or a related field.
A deep understanding of donor stewardship best practices, and fundraising software such as Raiser’s Edge or Donorperfect.
CFRE designation and membership in AFP, AHP, and CAGP are assets.
A hospitality-oriented and service-driven attitude, with personal transportation available for engaging stakeholders and supporting the hospice’s initiatives.
