Disability Support Worker

**Dynamite Respite** is looking for qualified, motivated, and experienced behavioural workers to support our clients/families in the region. Our goal is to bring institutional quality support directly to the home.

We work directly in the home with clients suffering from various mental health and behavioural conditions, including ASD, ADHD, Borderline Personality Disorder, Intermittent Explosive Disorder, Conduct Disorder, and aggressive Tendencies. Also, youth are involved in the Justice System.

Staff will work closely with management, social workers, psychologists, mental health professionals, and family members to foster the best treatment outcomes possible.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**Note; We are open to training students or new graduates.**

**Workers will be joined on the one. We will ensure two or more workers are** **on the floor to reduce the possibility of overworking.**
- Experience working with children and youth with Autism;
- Experience working with children and youth with challenging behaviours;
- Knowledge of Applied Behaviour Analysis

(ABA) is an asset;
- Experience with assisting individuals in personal care;
- Current C.P.R. and First Aid and CPI certificate is preferred;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends;
- Enjoy working with children in a team atmosphere;
- Valid driver's license and access to a

The vehicle is required;
- Bilingualism in French and English is an asset.

- Duties and Responsibilities:

- Assessing the physical and emotional condition of clients
- Engaging clients in suitable activities such as socializing, playing games, and reading out loud
- Relief and support, emotional regulation
- Learning and maintaining ethical standards of practice

- Promotes behavioural change and personal growth of children and youth with difficulties coping due to social, emotional, physical, or cognitive delays.
- Provides life skills training per goals of the youth and other stakeholders set.
- Supports youth to achieve their established goals using a strengths-based approach.
- Works within the youth community to utilize local resources and programs.
- Initiates activity groups related to the specific needs and goals of the youth.

**Salary**: $17.00-$22.89 per hour
