Fortis Mining, Engineering, and Manufacturing is currently recruiting for a team player to fulfill the role of a Machining Supervisor. The Machining Supervisor performs a variety of tasks and is responsible for supervision of employees in the machine shop, including organizing daily workload accompanied with the proper paperwork. The Machining Supervisor reports directly to the Production Manager but works closely with other departments.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- The Machining Supervisor will be responsible for managing and ensuring that all jobs are completed on time with quality control
- Quoting jobs
- Quote experience would be an asset but not required
- Planning, scheduling, and ordering materials for jobs
- Ensure that the machining staff are fulfilling duties
- Ensure all employees maintain a professional and respectful workplace environment, adhering to corporate policies
- Lead and participate in Tool Box meetings
- Studies blueprints and sketches in order to plan material, equipment, and labour needs to accomplish tasks
- Ensure all shop inspections/ equipment are being done
- Ability to communicate clearly
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to prioritize
- Promote a positive, team-orientated environment

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Minimum Grade 12
- Minimum 2 years of experience in machining
- Minimum 2 years supervisory experience
- Knowledge of the methods, practices, tools, and equipment of the machinist trade
- Knowledge of machining qualities, properties, and uses of various metals such as aluminum, brass, steel, cast iron, and stainless steel
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Strong time-management skills
- Any safety-related training and certificates would be beneficial but not required (ie. Forklift)
- Driver’s license required
