Production Machine Operator/ Trimmer

**The Company and Position**:
Norwesco Canada, a part of North America’s largest Rotational Molding corporation, is seeking four ‘Molder/Machine Operators’. As our company expands its production capacity in the Saskatoon Plant, we have a need for full-time, first and second shift Machine Operators.
**Job Summary**:
The Molder/Machine Operator position is responsible for processing our raw materials to a molded product, which the Secondary position can process to final product, ready for shipment to our customers.
**Work Environment**:
10-12 hour shifts, Monday through Thursday/Friday, 40-48 hours/week, Occasional Overtime, as workloads dictate.

The Molder position is classified as heavy work. The employee must be able to work in an industrial setting with exposure to the following physical activities; climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling and lifting (up to 50 pounds), and will work in an industrial plant setting with exposure to; heights, humidity, heat, noise, vibration, moving mechanical parts and forklift traffic.
**Responsibilities**:
An employee promoting safe work practices, following established and documented Health and Safety programs who;
- Understand and control the operation of our rotational molding equipment.
- Reference set-up sheets to determine resin and colorant weights. Use of various scales required to accurately weigh resin and colorant. Basic arithmetic required when product charge weights require multiple containers.
- Frequent use of hand tools including but not limited to; utility knives, wrenches, hammers, chisels, pry bars, etc.
- Frequent use of impact wrench for bolt removal and replacement.
- Frequent use of overhead lifting devices such as jib cranes, bridge cranes and monorails equipped with electric or manual hoists.
- Loading resin into molds manually through use of buckets or mechanically through use of a forklift and resin bin.
- Assist in mold changes. All mold changes to be supervised by the Shift Supervisor.
- Forklift operation; handling pallets, molds, product, raw materials, scrap, etc. Training and certification required and provided by the company prior to forklift operations.
- Cut up scrap product with reciprocating, circular and band saws reducing it to a size which will fit in our chippers for processing.
- Visually inspect all tools and equipment on a daily basis. Defective or dangerous tooling or equipment is to be immediately reported to the Shift Supervisor.
- Completes basic housekeeping on a daily basis in their work area and throughout the plant.
- Acknowledges and complies with all safety programs and policies.
- Additional miscellaneous duties as directed by the Shift Supervisor or Plant Manager/Superintendent.
**Core Competencies**:
- Mechanically inclined, comfortable working with production equipment and small tools.
- Comfortable working at elevated heights, using fall protection equipment.
- Ability to decipher Work Orders and Bill of Materials
- Ability to work in a fast-past environment, with multiple responsibilities and priorities.
- Proven oral and written communication, English required.
- Capable of working with mínimal supervision.
**Education and Experience**:
- High School Diploma, or equivalent, with preference given to a technical/trade diploma.
- Forklift certification considered and asset, but training can be provided.
- WHMIS and LOTO training considered an asset.
**Salary**: $19.75-$22.50 per hour, based upon experience
