Maintenance Technician

Work in a team environment with maintenance personnel to support coverage of machinery in the plant.

Responsible to maximize equipment uptime and reliability through proper preventative maintenance (PM), troubleshooting, and design improvements while maintaining a safe working environment. Operates conventional mills and lathes to repair or manufacture machined parts in an efficient manner. Operation covers laying out parts, setting up machines, lathe work, mill work, etc.

REPORTS TO: Plant Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs maintenance and troubleshoots unscheduled equipment breakdowns

Performs routine maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment, conveyors, bucket elevators, dust collectors, including preventative maintenance as per the PM schedule
- Responds to assigned maintenance requests
- Assembles, adjusts, modifies, and rebuilds machinery & mechanical equipment
- Repairs and replaces defective machinery parts
- Fabricates machine parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up
- Performs machining operations to manufacture and repair machine components to tight tolerances
- Operates milling & lathe machine
- Performs surface grinding, die sharpening, filing, and drilling operations
- Interprets part & machine drawings and sketches
- Sets up equipment and welds parts, using gas welding equipment
- Completes documentation
- Work orders
- Parts requisitions
- Installs new equipment
- Performs housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe working area
- Other duties as assigned

AUTHORITY
- Follow safety rules, procedures, and policies of SupremeX
- Prioritize work based on production requirements
- Recommend machine or equipment purchases
- Recommend changes to PM schedules and checklists
- Recommend changes to spare stock inventory

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Industrial Mechanic-Millwright Trade Certification
- 3 - 5 years experience in manufacturing environment with packaging, paper converting, or printing industry
- Experience in mechanical repair, strong mechanical aptitude a must
- Practical welding experience a must
- Ability to prioritize and re-prioritize appropriately while responding to various requests
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic drawings and schematics
- Ability to operate hand and power tools, and use measuring devices
- Tow motor license an asset
- Strong internal customer focus
- Proven problem solving skills with the ability to deliver results and meet deadlines
- Willingness to work off-shifts and overtime when required
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
- Team oriented
- Electrician license would be an asset

Schedule:
8 hour shift

Day shift

Monday to Friday

Supplemental pay types:
Overtime pay

**Salary**: $70,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
