**Opportunities Coach, Indigenous Student Achievement Pathways**:
Indigenous Student Achievement Pathways (ISAP) welcomes First Nations, Inuit and Métis students to the University of Saskatchewan (USask) with academic and social programming that builds confidence, knowledge and skills as students begin their journey to exciting degree and career opportunities.

**Primary Purpose**:Indigenous Student Achievement Pathways (ISAP) in the College of Arts and Science is seeking a part-time team member to support Indigenous students in accessing co-curricular leadership and growth opportunities, including career-readiness and academic extension activities (e.g. conferences, internships, scholarship and bursary opportunities, community-engagement, networking events).

**Typical Duties or Accountabilities**:The ISAP Opportunities Coach will be assigned tasks and areas of responsibility to support ISAP’s implementation of co-curricular programming elements, including ISAP’s peer mentorship program. Reporting to the ISAP Team Lead, typical accountabilities for the ISAP Opportunities Coach will include:

- Support student leadership development and peer mentor training in collaboration with the ISAP Programs Officer
- Liaise with the Student Employment Centre, Awards Office, Gordon Oakes Red Bear Student Centre, Indigenous Student Union, and Undergraduate RSAW Initiatives office to build and maintain a broad awareness of co-curricular learning, career-readiness, and scholarship opportunities available to Indigenous undergraduate students
- Collaborate with the ISAP staff, peer mentors, and instructional team to ensure that students’ academic needs are met with proactive and growth-focused programming and opportunities
- Support ISAP LC event coordination, including ISAP’s academic orientation, Summer Start
- Coordinate cohort gatherings for students engaged in summer employment, research, and internship opportunities, with a focus on explicit transferable skills development and culturally-relevant perspectives on research and lifelong learning
- Support ongoing planning and assessment within the ISAP team through open, creative, and student-centered feedback and reflection

**Education**: Applicants to this position should have a post-secondary degree or certificate in a field relevant to academic pathways in the College of Arts and Science (no disciplinary preference); and/or significant experience with group facilitation and student advocacy in post-secondary spaces. Understanding of Indigenous community priorities and socioeconomic factors affecting post-secondary access for Indigenous students in Saskatchewan will be a strong asset for this position.

**Experience**: Prior experience with, or knowledge of, ISAP’s first year learning communities and peer mentor program will be considered an asset. A background in, or knowledge of, post-secondary undergraduate studies will be considered an asset.

- This position requires experience with electronic file management; use of common software (e.g. Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Canva, Google Jamboard, etc); comfort with online learning management systems (e.g. Canvas); and enthusiasm for in-person scholarly and culturally-centered activities
- Knowledge of Saskatchewan’s key employment arenas, common career pathways, professional colleges and accreditation bodies, and experience working with Indigenous students will be considered strong assets.
