**THE OPPORTUNITY**

Balsom Communications is looking for a media savvy representative for our sales team This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated Advertising Sales Representative to join our organization. Our Advertising Sales Representative will introduce and sell our media marketing solutions across a number of platforms primarily print options to local small, medium and large sized businesses in the Wood Buffalo region, while achieving revenue targets. Experience selling advertising is strongly recommended but not essential.

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**

The Advertising Sales Representative will be responsible for the continued growth of the publication’s advertising revenue by developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships.
- Responsible for ongoing sales with both new and existing clients
- Schedule and attend meetings with business owners
- Manage the client relationship to build solid relationships and assist advertisers in achieving their goals
- Provide our valued customers with creative and effective advertising solutions and play a key role in the overall success of our organization
- Prospect for new accounts including researching and creating proposals for prospective advertisers through compelling business cases
- Assist in the ad design process and help coordinate on behalf of the client with the entire team
- Attain or surpass sales targets
- Address client concerns in a timely and professional manner
- Ability to present a variety of opportunities to all clients, and to support all special initiatives

**WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR**
- Entrepreneurial mindset
- Previous experience in sales and cold callings an asset
- Superior customer service skills, creativity, and ability to be resourceful, expedient and work to deadline
- Ability to build and develop effective relationships within our team and with clients
- Positive attitude, flexible nature and excellent communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment, with strong attention to detail
- A proven history of achieving and surpassing sales targets, and unprecedented drive for results is an asset
- Degree or diploma in marketing/ advertising, or equivalent work experience plus a good understanding of online and social media
- Familiarity with Excel/Word/Google Documents and working with cloud-based technology (ie. Google Drive, Dropbox)
- **Must have transportation.**

**Required experience**:

- Sales: 2 years or more experience preferable
