Position Title: Murphy Gear Workwear Sales Associate

Reports to: Retail Store Management Team

**WHAT WE WANT**

**SALES**:

- Consistently use the Murphy Gear sales skills model and strategies in order to deliver a positive customer experience and achieve daily sales goals.
- Increase customer loyalty and reach sales goals by proactively giving our customers advice on products, and ensuring customer awareness of sales or promotions.
- Demonstrate team support for fellow sales associates through sharing of product knowledge, helping to complete tasks and assist in customer interactions if needed.
- Actively use selling techniques to influence multiple items per transaction by up-selling/cross-selling.
- Resolve customer concerns in a manner consistent with company guidelines.
- Ensure that post-sales follow-ups with all clients are met and up to date, such as information on delivery status of ordered goods, and any back orders
- Ensure Point-of-Sale (POS) transactions are processed accurately.

**MERCHANDISING**:

- Assist with effective and timely processing of Murphy Gear products once received, transfer goods to warehouse and store. Uphold the standards of product display, ensuring the right product is in the right place in the right quantities.
- Pricing, Tagging, stocking and replenishment of store and warehouse according to Murphy Gear guidelines. Proactively restock the store daily as directed by store management team.
- Comply with inventory control processes and counts to prevent asset loss (shrinkage).
- Follow directives from management and execute store merchandising standards.
- Ensure all visual and housekeeping standards are maintained. Keep retail store floor tidy, as well as fitting rooms and warehouse/stock area.

**WHAT WE NEED: CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS**

**MUST be already located in Dartmouth or Halifax Nova Scotia to be considered for position.**
- Flexibility to work store hours as assigned by store management team: Includes weekdays Monday to Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Thursday and Friday evening shifts 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Saturday 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and additional inventory hours.
- Previous Retail experience an asset
- Attendance and reliability is a MUST, will be a deal beaker if not displayed.
- Ability to handle multiple customers.
- Ensuring all store daily maintenance tasks are completed before shift ends.
- Good computer literacy, knowledge of POS systems, handling cash, debit and credit card transactions accurately.
- Displaying consistent focus when completing all paperwork, cash handling, using the POS.
- Experience with Excel spreadsheets and basic Word skills an asset.
- Strong communication skills.
- Results oriented with a high level of energy and enthusiasm.
- Must be a self-starter who works well independently and in team environments.
- **PLEASE NOTE** significant walking and standing is required for much of each shift, including stairs. The position requires lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Able to organize own transportation to comply punctually with store shift timeline
