**Accounting Assistant (Contract)**

Pacific Surgical Holdings Ltd. is a Canadian company with eleven divisions across Canada and the United States, all operating within the healthcare industry: Keir Surgical, Nightingale Medical Supplies, Galen Medical, OSIS Medical, Mobile Instrument Service & Repair - ANDA, ScopeCare, Conkin Surgical Instruments, Mastel Precision Surgical Instruments, BFW Inc., and RICA Animal Health.

We are seeking a Vancouver-based **Accounting Assistant for** **a 6-month temporary contract**. This position is an hourly position based out of our Vancouver office. The Accounting Assistant will report to Pacific Surgical’s Director of Finance. The role will have the following responsibilities:
**Accounting Responsibilities**:

- Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently to maintain up-to-date financial records.
- Assist with accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring accurate recording of invoices and payments.
- Assist with reviewing and processing expense reimbursements.
- Conduct general ledger reconciliations to ensure financial integrity.
- In charge of storing, maintaining, accessing, and organizing financial records and company documents.
- Assist with year-end file preparation.
- Support accounting department with compliance and ad-hoc tasks.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or certification in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred).
- Previous experience in accounting (2-3 years) is highly preferred.
- Proficiency with using Sage 300 accounting software a plus.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles is highly preferred.
- Excellent data entry skills with a high level of accuracy; experience with 10 key typing is preferred.
- Solid knowledge of financial concepts including debits & credits, account reconciliation, and double entry bookkeeping.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel a must.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
