**Overview**:
Seasons Retirement Communities is seeking an experienced **Occupational Health and Safety Specialist** to lead the development, implementation, and oversight of workplace health and safety programs across our Canadian locations. This role plays a critical part in building a culture of safety, respect, and injury prevention for all team members.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Develop, implement, and maintain multi-province workplace health and safety programs, policies, and procedures
- Ensure compliance with provincial legislation (ON, AB, BC), industry standards, and internal safety protocols
- Establish and support Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committees in all communities
- Conduct annual safety reviews, audits, and benchmarking to assess risk and program effectiveness
- Manage injury reporting, documentation, and communication with external agencies (WSIB, WCB, WorkSafeBC)
- Lead return-to-work and accommodation programs, including modified duties and recovery planning
- Track, analyze, and report injury metrics, claims, and compliance performance across regions
- Coordinate safety education and training (e.g., safe resident handling, ergonomics, injury prevention)
- Develop and maintain hazard assessments, Physical Demands Analyses (PDAs), and risk management tools
- Oversee implementation of the COR program in Alberta and explore cost-saving opportunities in other provinces
- Coach and support site leaders in fostering a culture of safety and accountability
- Collaborate with Employee Services and site leadership to promote a safe, respectful, and injury-free workplace
**Qualifications**:
- 3-5 years’ experience in OHS, preferably in healthcare or multi-site settings
- Strong knowledge of provincial legislation (ON, AB, BC) and WSIB/WCB processes
- Post-secondary education in OHS, HR, or related field; CRSP designation an asset
- Strong communication, coaching, and analytical skills
- Willingness to travel within ON, AB, and BC
