**THE POSITION**

Based in the Greater Toronto Area, ideally with accessibility to the Vaughan Head Office, the President is a critical leadership role that will report to the President, GMS Canada and will serve as a member of its senior leadership team. The President will have P&L leadership responsibility for the Watson business across Ontario that includes 8 locations with 300+ employees.

The President will be responsible for making decisions to ensure Watson is highly profitable and sustainable. This will include responsibility for overseeing management, administration and reporting of all business activities including but not limited to planning, budgeting, scheduling, delivery, inventory accuracy, business metrics, culture and employee engagement and safety related functions. The President will provide the level of leadership required to build a highly professional, disciplined and performance-driven organization by introducing measurable processes, structure and accountability. In particular, this will require ensuring alignment and strong communication across business functions including sales, operations and finance, while introducing more discipline around strategic planning, customer account planning and profiling, budgeting, the go-to-market strategy and approach to customer service more broadly.

In addition, with a growth mandate focused on driving sustainable business performance within an increasingly competitive business environment, the President will continue to drive growth in core products (drywall, insulation, and steel studs) and adjacent products (roofing, tools and equipment and bricking). Relatedly, this will also require solidifying and expanding business relationships with the legacy partner business while penetrating new market opportunities through the addition of new customers and acquisition opportunities. Building on a strong foundation, the President will provide the leadership necessary to further develop the organizational capability that will underpin continued business growth, with a strong focus on talent development and driving a high-performance, accountable culture across the organization.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Appoint department heads or managers and assign responsibilities.
- Evaluate performance of the organization in meeting objectives and determine where costs can be reduced, what can be improved and what should be changed.
- Develop and direct sales strategy, including customer pricing and payment terms programs.
- Confer with finance, HR, and IT to discuss issues, coordinate activities, or resolve problems.
- Negotiate with vendors for local product supply requirements.
- Take corrective action to solve organizational problems.
- Ensure performance plans are set, maintained and continuously improved; generate creative solutions to identify improvements in processes.
- Provide leadership in all Watson related matters; positively impact morale and the culture.
- Create innovative ways to market products and services to potential customers.
- Research and establish new opportunities to expand client base.
- Collaborate with GMS Canada on initiatives, strategic planning, and financial reporting.
- Always positively represent Watson through a success-oriented and professional demeanor.
