- Permanent**Intended job posting audience**NexGen Mechanical Solutions is seeking a **Parts Technician** to join our team based out of Whitehorse, YT. Previous experience in a parts department setting is required to qualify for this position. A Red Seal would be considered an asset.

**General Information**:
Wage is negotiable depending on experience and qualifications.

**Responsibilities**:

- Procure parts from a variety of suppliers (local and across Canada)
- Prepare parts estimates for internal and external repair orders and/or sales
- Process incoming requisitions expediently according to company and customer PO procedures
- Schedule and arrange the transport of materials by air or road
- Manage and maintain stock shop supply quantities
- Calculate transportation costs and prepare transportation records
- Perform clerical duties such as updating and maintaining record data systems, tracking shipments, updating PO’s for accurate recordkeeping, and any other duties as required

**Requirements**:

- At least (3) years’ experience in heavy duty parts management or a related setting
- Product knowledge of heavy equipment and/or commercial truck and transport parts
- Meticulous attention to detail and ability to perform tasks with accuracy and efficiency in mind
- Strong computer and technology skills
- Excellent data mining and analytical skills
- Inventory management experience
- Fluent in Microsoft Office (predominantly Outlook, Excel)
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work unsupervised and in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of parts inventory systems such as SIS, Quickserv, and RepairLink would be considered an asset
