Job Title: Field Technician – IT Support Job Summary

We are seeking a versatile Field Technician with experience in oil & gas pumping systems as well as basic IT system support. The role involves troubleshooting pumps, overseeing digital meters, supporting credit/debit card transaction systems, and maintaining network equipment used in fuel stations or oil & gas facilities.

Credit/Debit & POS System Support

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot POS devices, credit/debit card readers, and transaction terminals used in fuel stations.
  • Resolve issues related to failed transactions, communication errors, and device malfunctions.
  • Coordinate with payment service providers for updates, connectivity, and device replacements.
  • Ensure compliance with payment security and device standards.

Network & Connectivity Support

  • Install and maintain basic network devices such as routers, switches, Wi-Fi access points, and communication modules.
  • Troubleshoot network outages affecting pump controllers, POS terminals, or metering systems.
  • Verify LAN/WAN connectivity and diagnose issues using tools like ping, traceroute, etc.
  • Support SIM-based or wireless network modules used in remote pump monitoring systems.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate service logs, calibration reports, maintenance checklists, and troubleshooting records.
  • Prepare incident reports and escalate recurring issues to engineers or vendors.
  • Update equipment history and maintain inventory of spare parts.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Diploma/ITI in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or related field.
  • 1–5 years experience in oil & gas pump maintenance or fuel station technical support.
  • Strong knowledge of pump systems and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Basic understanding of POS terminals, payment systems, or electronic controllers.
  • Familiarity with routers, switches, and basic network troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and pump manuals.
  • Good communication and customer-service skills.

Work Environment

  • On-site field role at fuel depots, gas stations, terminals, or oil & gas facilities.
  • Requires travel, remote site visits, and occasional off-hours support.

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract, Casual, Freelance

Pay: $20.00-$29.00 per hour
