PFM Construction is a construction firm experienced in excavation and civil contracting, specializing in underground utilities, site servicing, road building, and excavation. As we continue to grow, we are looking to add a labourer to our team. If you have a minimum of 1 years of civil experience working with water, sanitary, storm, hydro/telephone utilities, and are committed to high-quality workmanship, this could be a great opportunity for you to grow with us.

As a Labourer with PFM Construction, you will be responsible for assisting in various aspects of civil construction projects, including site preparation, trenching, concrete work, and infrastructure development. This role involves working outdoors in various conditions and requires strong physical stamina and the ability to follow instructions effectively.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assist with site preparation, including grading, trenching, and leveling
- Perform manual labor tasks such as digging, lifting, and moving materials
- Install drainage systems, pipelines, and underground utilities
- Assist in the placement and finishing of concrete
- Operate and maintain hand tools and basic equipment
- Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe work environment
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet project deadlines
- Support various aspects of road construction, site servicing, and other civil infrastructure tasks

**Skills & Attributes**:

- 1 year of experience in utility construction, familiar with working around existing utilities.
- Ability to transition to bulk earthworks and road building when required.
- Experience with GPS systems is considered an asset.
- Strong safety knowledge and experience in the construction industry.
- Valid driver’s license required, with personal transportation to job sites.
- Certifications such as First Aid, Confined Space, Utility Locating, and Rigging are beneficial.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Fit to work - must be able to see, hear, walk, stand, and lift 50lbs for a full shift.
- Ability to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to work well in a team environment.
- High attention to detail and a strong desire to provide high-quality workmanship.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and address issues proactively.
- Willingness to work 5 to 6 days a week, 8+ hours per day, including extended hours as needed.
- Ability to commute to various job site locations in the Lower Mainland.

**Benefits**:

- Permanent, full-time position
- Work 10-12 hours per day, 5-6 days per week
- Overtime pay after 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week
