Inventory and Data Management Specialist

My Sewing Room Inc. is looking for an outgoing team player to help manage our product portfolio. Someone who thinks critically, is detail-oriented, self-motivated, very organized and possesses excellent communication skills. Should be a self-starter and able to learn new concepts with guidance not structured lessons.
This is an ENTRY Level position starting as an assistant to our Operations Manager. We hope the successful applicant will learn the ropes and grow into the role of Inventory Management Team Lead.
This is a full-time key position with expectation of a 35 - 40-hour week, 5 days per week
The following knowledge or skills would be beneficial to an applicant:
- Self-Learner
- Proficiency with the Microsoft suite of software, especially Excel.
- Experience working with any Retail Point of Sale software
- Prior experience in Inventory Management/Receiving.
- Time Management and prioritizing of tasks
The Following Skills and abilities are Essential
- Attention to detail
- Physically (With assistance if necessary) able to Lift or move boxes up to 30kg or 66lbs
- Excellent Communication skills in English.
- Mid Level Computer Skills (Some experience working with graphical Design Software would be Useful)
The initial training stage of this position is as an assistant to the Operations Manager, your duties will include:
- Training for up to 2 Weeks as a sales floor associate to become familiar with the impact inventory management has on the sales floor.
- Assist with merchandising product, ensuring that pricing is clearly marked and attractively displayed. Use software specialized to print labels and signs, working with a POS Database and assist with organization and maintenance of product displays.
- Help organize Service Department parts and assist in the maintenance and management parts and repair inventories.
- Work with Sales Staff and the owners to ensure clear concise attractive signage for product on the sales floor.
- Work with financial controller to maintain a purchasing budget and product flow.
- Work with sales floor staff to ensure product is well organized for customer's convenience.
- Ensure that product is organized/optimized in the company database
- Assist with receiving orders, putting out stock, ensuring displays are correct and up to date.
- Update costs and retail pricing from purchase orders and vendor spreadsheets
- Updating store signage with new information using Point of Sale system Data and Label software.
- Prepare and submit orders to vendors (with Guidance from Operations Manager)
- Restock inventory and update prices, tags, location codes, and planograms.
- Work with teachers, marketing department, and sales staff so that featured products are well stocked for classes, marketing, and events.
- All other duties as assigned.

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 - 40 per week
