**Steel Fabrication Estimator (Structural/ Miscellaneous)**
**JOB POSTING- Permanent Fulltime Position**

**The main responsibilities of this position are**:

- Prepare complete, accurate and detailed steel bid package proposals.
- Able to review drawings and documentation to generate take offs, outsource purchased items and components, and complete bid summaries.
- Able to review the RFQ documents to understand the scope of work to prepare bid proposal.
- The ability to read construction drawings/specifications and perform take offs
- A complete understanding of the shop dynamic and processes to prepare a cost effective bid
- Work with management in bid closing.
- The ability to work closely and cooperatively with co-workers, subcontractors/suppliers, architects, engineers, owners, general contractors and other business associates to help maintain a quality Standard that Noront Steel is known for.
- The ability to maintain documentation from Bid to project completion.
- To be accountability for own work. and support your co-workers

**Qualifications**
- 5 years of directly related experience;
- Experience within the Steel Industry required;
- Diploma in Construction Engineering Technology considered an asset;
- A team player who is motivated and has strong attention to detail;
- Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills that are complemented by effective interpersonal, oral and written communication;
- Proficient in MS Office software;
- Adaptable and flexible with taking on new opportunities as assigned by Estimating Manager.

**Additional requirements including, but not limited to**:

- Ability to demonstrate strong leadership, design, communication and technical knowledge of steel construction and fabrication.
- Ability to make sketches, drafts in order to demonstrate ideas to client, fabricators, or erectors.
- Ability to handle multiple bids while maintaining a high standard of quality.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment

**SALARY**:

- Salary to be negotiated based on experience

Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
