Agile Healthcare Solutions seeks Child & Youth Worker for retirement home, hospitals and other care facilities. **There are various shifts available.**

**JOB DUTIES**:
As a Child Youth Care Worker you will perform child and youth mental health work in establishing and maintaining therapeutic relationships with children and youth with complex mental health and/or addiction issues who require long term residential treatment.

**THE ROLE**:

- Development of goal-focused activities
- Ability to utilize a variety of intervention techniques
- Ability to demonstrate basic knowledge of mental health issues, addictions, abuse and other relevant issues impacting youth
- Ability to demonstrate an understanding of behavioral and emotional needs of youth
- Ability to advocate on behalf of youth
- Ability to create a mutual, comfortable environment for both staff and young people
- Ability to provide effective and courteous verbal and nonverbal communication techniques
- Ability to be creative in working with youth who are experiencing complex issues
- Implementation of programs
- Formal training in the area of skill development and behavior management
- Requires physical strength, good balance, mobility and endurance for recreational activities
- Demonstrate competency in English written and verbal communication

**Qualifications**:

- 1+ YEAR combined experience and education
- First Aid/CPR, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, Suicide Intervention, Code of Ethics of the Council of Canadian Child and Youth Care Association, internal policies and procedures, and other training as set out by the organization
- Organizational, Administrative, and Report-Writing Skills
- Knowledge of FASD, ODD, Autism, ADHD, Anxiety Disorders, and other diagnoses is beneficial

**Salary**: $21.00-$26.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Night shift
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Toronto, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Work Location: One location
