Role Description
This is a contract, on-site role located in Toronto, ON, for a Child and Youth Worker. In this position, you will provide direct care, mentorship, and supervision to youth in a residential setting, implementing trauma-informed and evidence-based practices. Responsibilities include developing and implementing individualized care plans, facilitating therapeutic and recreational activities, mediating conflicts, and maintaining a safe and supportive environment. Additional duties may include reporting on resident progress, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, managing crises, and building relationships with community partners.
Qualifications
- Experience in Youth Work, Youth Services, or Youth Mentoring, with the ability to build positive relationships and support personal development
- Background in Social Work or related fields, with an understanding of trauma-informed care and child welfare practices
- Strong Communication skills, both verbal and written, to collaborate with teams and document care plans
- Ability to work effectively in a structured, high-paced, and emotionally sensitive environment
- Training in crisis intervention, behavioral management strategies, or Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) is beneficial
- Relevant certification, diploma, or degree in Social Work, Child and Youth Care, or a related discipline
- Experience working with marginalized or at-risk youth populations is an asset
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
