**About the position**:
Under the supervision of the Program Supervisor, and in conjunction with the program team, the Mobile Addictions Outreach Worker is responsible to engage high-risk, street-involved populations and increase access to information about and participation in substance abuse treatment programs and services. This care is based on individual needs in an individual-centered, holistic fashion. The Addiction Outreach Worker will also be responsible for facilitating SMART Recovery groups for the community.
The Mobile Addiction Outreach Worker also advocates on behalf of individuals and connects them with appropriate addiction resources in an effort to help them reach a higher level of stability. It is the worker's responsibility to support the individual before treatment, during treatment, and after treatment, as well as implement harm reduction strategies for those individuals whom would benefit from this intervention.
**Here’s how you will contribute as an Addiction Outreach Worker within the Mobile Additions Outreach Initiative Program**:
- Provide Intensive Outreach Services designed to support high-risk participants with addiction support referrals throughout Alberta and community connections.
- Provide information and connect people with addiction services on a continuum of Harm Reduction to Abstinence Based options.
- Complete up to 20 hours of Outreach walks per week, connecting with individuals from a variety of different capacities and providing on-the-spot support.
- Work as an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, both within McMan and the wider community.
- Representing McMan in community stakeholder and committee meetings working towards strategies to support the target population.
- Organize, promote, and facilitate weekly SMART Recovery Meetings.
- Day to day case management and service delivery using a participant-centered, strength-based approach
- Maintain all file documentation, accurate data collection and case notes.
- Complete participant customized case plans based upon available addiction and community resources.
- Provide crisis support and referrals for participants as required.
- Be flexible to respond to program needs.

**Here’s what you’ll need to get an interview**:
- Degree/Diploma in the Human Services Field (or equivalent). A combination of education and experience may be considered. Education and/or experience working with street involved populations with addictions preferred.
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders including homeless serving system and addiction serving system.
- Knowledge of community and addiction resources on a continuum of Harm Reduction to Abstinence Based services.
- Knowledge of a variety of community supports in Lethbridge and throughout Southern Alberta.
- Ability to walk up to 15KM per shift during outreach walks.
- Experience in skills and techniques known to help with behaviour change including cognitive behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, leadership, and mentorship.
- Demonstrated strong communication and administrative skills with acute attention to accuracy and detail.
- Must be willing to work up to two evenings per week (until 9:00pm)
- Reliable vehicle, valid Driver’s License, and minimum $2M third party liability insurance, Driver’s Abstract with less than six demerits.
- Clear Police Record Check with vulnerable sector and Child Intervention Record Check dated within the last six (6) months.
- Current Standard First Aid CPR Level C Certificate.
