**You will help to complete the project lifecycle**
- Conduct a route or site walk to collect data of all surface features of aerial and underground utility data necessary to support the preparation of the drawings and analysis that are complete and suitable for submission to local bodies
- Perform a visual inspection of overhead and underground facilities and equipment to compile field data collection, minor work order preparation, and maintenance reports of equipment.
- Perform field data collection utilizing laptop computer, tablet device, GPS, and other electronic devices to collect data for input into database software as necessary.
- Develop a working knowledge of telephone cable and other communication facilities
- Operate necessary equipment to take measurements on utility poles and mid-span facilities, perform pole inspections, inspect and perform maintenance etc.
- Taking initial steps that include understanding which geographical area is being surveyed and utilizing GPS coordinates to locate utility poles
- Maintain the recording instrument to ensure accurate and reliable data collection
- Clearly communicate with clients and project stakeholders to identify project risks and expectations.
- Occasional off-site meetings, site visits, and field inspections.
- Perform self quality check using Microsoft excel and computer skills

**Required skills to qualify**

B. Willingness to work in a utility environment or transferable skills to adapt to a utility environment will be an asset but not mandatory

C. Demonstrate willingness in field data collection procedures, survey and data entry will be an asset

D. Analytical competence to interact with a variety of individuals including engineers, clients and general public

E. You enjoy working towards deadlines instead of 8.00am to 4.00pm environment

F. You have valid document to work in Canada

G. You are willing to produce criminal background check, police clearance and driver’s abstract (if Asked).

**Good-to-haves**

Knowledge of GIS and Surveying will be considered as an asset

Must be a self-starter able to work with others and to handle multiple tasks

**Job Type**:

- Contract (6 months, to be revised accordingly)

Start Date:

- As soon as possible

Hourly Rate:

- 18 CAD - 22 CAD (Per hour)

Driving License: Class 5 (required)

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
