Guest Service Agent

The **Holiday Inn Express and Suites Victoria - Colwood** is now hiring for a full time experienced guest services agent / breakfast bar attendant. This is a great opportunity to work in a three diamond hotel in a friendly, team-oriented work environment.

Must be willing to work weekday’s Evenings and weekends.

**Duties & Responsibilities (Guest Service Agent)**

Maintains and follows all Holiday Inn Express (IHG) Training and Standards
- Committed to excellence, and always driven to go above and beyond
- Strong team player willing to assist all departments
- Greet guests in a friendly manner and follow check in procedures
- Take payments and post accurately to guest accounts
- Follow set polices regarding cash handling

Provide exceptional customer service by maintaining the buffet with proper fresh food at all times, in a clean and presentable manner

Ensures all foods are handled and stored safely in accordance with established health codes.

Operates all kitchen equipment as needed for food preparation.

Maintains a clean and safe working environment adhering to all health and safety standards.

**Duties and Essential Job Functions (Breakfast Bar Attendant)**
- Provide exceptional customer service by maintaining the buffet with proper fresh food at all times, in a clean and presentable manner.
- Provide a high level of professional service; presenting the food and beverage in a manner which exceeds the guest’s expectations
- Replenish all items for freshness and to have adequate supply of items available to guests
- Provides service to the banquet room when meeting in session
- Clear and clean tables, trays and bus pans
- Bring clean dishes, flatware and other items to serving areas
- Replenish condiments and other supplies at tables and in serving areas
- Always searching for ways to “wow” the customer, is proactive in dealing with the guest, never answering a request with “no”
- Greet all customers with enthusiasm, building relationships with customers in an appropriate way by using personality and positive attitude
- **Ensures all foods are handled and stored safely in accordance with established health codes.**:

- Wash, peel and cut items for the guest offering
- Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand, scour pots and pans
- Clean and sanitize kitchen including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances and equipment
- Receive, unpack, rotate and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and other storage areas
- **Operates all kitchen equipment as needed for food preparation.**:

- Adhere to specific cleaning checklists as well as an overall commitment to general cleanliness
- Cleans Breakfast Bar, Lifestyle Lounge, banquet room and back of the house areas, as well as completing assigned cleaning projects in a timely fashion.
- Stocks fridges and equipment, organizing all storage areas and kitchen daily
- Maintains inventory ensuring adequate supply of various items and that the storage area is neat and organized
- Reports problems with equipment, elevators and set up to the Executive Housekeeper or General Manager.
- **Maintains a clean and organized work environment adhering to all health and safety standards.**:

- Remove all garbage and adhere to recycling policies.
- Sweep and mop floors
- Handle and store cleaning products
- Vacuums room and returns equipment to storage areas in an organized fashion
- Be aware of all chemicals used in any of the cleaners/tools used on the job and utilize following safety guidelines
- Follow all guidelines outlined in the Policy Manual
