**Assistive Technology Specialist**

NorQuesters are difference makers, and we’re looking for someone dedicated to making a difference to join our Learner Experience team as an Assistive Technology Specialist. Reporting to the Manager, Accessibility Services, team in meeting the needs of students. The primary purpose of this role is to produce alternate format material for low-vision / blind students and coordinate alternate format work within the AT team. This position will support background processes within the Accessibility Services team including those associated with maintaining and distributing assistive technology software to students. Reporting to the Manager, Accessibility Services, the role of the Assistive Technology Assistant includes (but is not limited to):

- Assessing the alternative format needs of low vision / blind learners.
- Producing alternate format material to be used by low-vision and blind students.
- Coordinating the in-house production of alternative format material for low vision / blind students.
- Collaborating with external parties and internal stakeholders to acquire accessible material for students.
- Developing and maintaining alternative format training resources.
- Coordinating the distribution of alternative format materials to low vision / blind students.

In ensuring the alternative format needs of low vision / blind students are met, the Assistive Technology Assistant collaborates with the Assistive Technology Specialists, Accessibility Advisors, Accommodated Exams, and Instructional faculty. They also work with external stakeholders such as publishers.

**WHAT YOU BRING**
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline - Education, Assistive Technology, or a disability-related field
- A deep understanding of WCAG
- Experience making an array of file types WCAG compliant
- Experience with the Assistive Technology used by low-vision / blind learners
- Experience providing direct support to people with an experience of disability in an educational setting

**SALARY**:$2,078-2,700 biweekly (54,028-70,193 annually) reflective upon what you bring AKA your education and experience. This is a casual position with several vacancies.
