**Job Summary**
The Safety Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring the company’s operations meet all safety, regulatory, and compliance standards. This role plays a key part in maintaining a safe workplace, preventing incidents, and ensuring compliance with transportation, workplace safety, and government regulations.

**Duties**
- Monitor and enforce compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations (e.g., DOT, NSC and federal laws).
- Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments on vehicles, facilities, and equipment.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of driver qualifications, training, hours of service (HOS), vehicle inspections, and compliance documentation.
- Provide safety training and orientation for drivers and staff, including defensive driving, workplace safety, and emergency procedures.
- Collaborate with operations and dispatch teams to ensure safe trip planning and adherence to compliance requirements.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and recommend updates to company policies as needed.
- Act as a liaison with regulatory bodies during audits, inspections, and investigations.
- Promote a culture of safety through continuous improvement and employee engagement.

**Experience**
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, Transportation, or related field (preferred).
- Knowledge of transportation safety regulations (DOT, NSC etc.).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in safety, compliance, or transportation industry.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement corrective measures.
- Proficiency in MS Office and compliance management software.
- Certification in Transportation Safety or Health & Safety (asset, not required).
