Now in our 15th season, our authentic outdoor German Christmas Market features unique holiday shopping, seasonal entertainment, and delicious traditional food and drinks. Located in the downtown core of Vancouver, at Jack Poole Plaza, the Christmas Market will be open to the public daily from November 13 to December 24.

**Full-Time Contract Employment Opportunity - Hospitality Manager**

The Hospitality Manager will be responsible for managing all beverage huts, including staffing, inventory control, service quality, and operational efficiency. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to maintain high service standards in a fast-paced environment.

**Roles and Responsibilities**

**Square and POS Training**
- Prepare Training Programs & Resources for all beverage huts, including POS systems and inventory management, upselling & customer service processes.
- Back of house set up on Square for POS
- Rectify technological problems regarding POS systems & Wi-Fi

**Recruitment, Training and Scheduling**
- Recruit and manage Hospitality Coordinators and Team Leads
- Coordinate with Hospitality Coordinators in setting up and running daily briefings and weekly full team meetings to ensure the expectations of VCM are met.
- Create seasonal team schedules using scheduling software to meet the Market’s needs and adequately support levels of guest attendance.
- Plan, direct and coordinate team to ensure adequate resources are always appropriately and efficiently allocated.
- Coordinate and assist in the recruitment of beverage hut teams.
- Prepare and conduct training for all seasonal employees including Christmas Market knowledge, attitudes & conduct, POS systems handling, upselling & customer service processes.
- Strong ability to motivate staff towards reaching sales and Team KPIs.
- Schedule & manage portable beverage programs

**Inventory Management**
- Manage beverage inventory programs including ordering logistic and deliveries for all the beverage huts. Execute end-of-period reporting of Inventory levels and quality control.

**Set up and Tear Down**
- Oversee the Hospitality team for Beverage Huts set-up during the market and tear down.
- Ensure all the decor concepts implemented for all the Beverage Huts
- Define team responsibilities & tasks, implement communication lines and establish a functional team operation.

**Others**
- Execute the Christmas Market beverage service concept successfully, along with the VCM departments to ensure overall market success aligning with VCM Core Values.
- Oversee payments for all suppliers in a timely manner.
- Work closely with Finance Department to evaluate daily sales reports against KPIs, recommend and implement necessary changes to align with budgets, promotional responses, and attendance levels.
- Work closely with the Marketing and Guest Experience Department to coordinate all special promotions and special events that require Hospitality involvement.
- Work closely with the Operations Department to create the efficient Production Schedule.
- Monitor guest feedback, ensuring a world-class guest experience. Ability to troubleshoot customer queries confidently and in a timely manner.
- Ensure Hospitality department its operating in line with all Health & Safety policies and legal requirements.

**Qualifications**
- 3+ years of experience working in a high-volume beverage service environment, preferably for special events.
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in a related field of study (Events Management/Hospitality Management) is preferred.
- Possesses the Serving it Right Certificate (SIR), or willing to obtain.
- Having a Food Safe Certificate an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Extreme attention to detail.
- Commitment to high service standards.
- Proficiency with software and online tools, specifically Microsoft Office Suite, Square POS, Inventory, and Scheduling Management software.
- Diplomatic approach while working within policies, rules, and procedures.
- Ability to multitask within tight deadlines.
- Experience with scheduling and overseeing the activities of large groups.
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing environments and working under pressure.
- Second Language (German) an asset.
- Valid Driver's license, an asset.
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.

**Compensation**
- Salary Range: $5,500 - $6,500 per month
