Production Manager

A Production Manager is responsible for planning and overseeing projects from the initial award through to completion. They coordinate people and resources to deliver projects on time and within budget while acting as the point of liaison between the project team and senior management.

**General Duties & Responsibilities**:

- **Hiring of Field Staff (Foremen, Painters, Labourers, Subcontractors)**
- The Production Manager is to be actively involved in the hiring process of field workers. They are directly responsible for the interviewing of potential field staff and in determining their justifiable wage.
- **Training Field Staff and Implementation of Production Methods**
- The Production Manager is to ensure that all employees on job sites have had proper training and are aware of the production methods to be used on each site. They must periodically observe methods to ensure proper techniques are being used and that the foreman is being involved in the control of these techniques.
- **Employee Time Verification**
- The Production Manager is to ensure that all hours are being monitored for accuracy and correct project numbering to ensure accurate job cost reporting.
- **Quality Assurance**
- The Production Manager is to ensure that we are being recognized as a company who delivers our services with a high standard of quality, both in our interactions with the customers, as well as the finished product that we are delivering to them.
- **Health & Safety**
- The Production Manager is to be conscious and aware of safety standards that are to be met on each job site. They must be proactive in ensuring that all safety standards are in place before any work commences. There are to be Pre-job Hazard Inspections/Reports completed before work commences and intermittent site inspections through the course of the project(s).
- **Pre-production Planning & Budget Tracking**
- The Production Manager is to ensure that they review each job before it starts with the Estimator-in-Charge to ensure they are aware of the accepted scope of work, budgeted hours & materials while developing a plan of a successful project execution. The Production Manager must also ensure that the budgets are provided to the Foreman to ensure it is being met or exceeded over the duration of the project.
- **Job Organization**
- The Production Manager must assign personnel to each job according to the needs of each job and who can best perform the work.
- **Address Customer Concerns**
- The Production Manager is to address any customer concerns and ensure that they are immediately looked after and/or have been brought to the attention of the General Manager so that they can be addressed accordingly.
- **Care of Equipment**
- It is very important that the Production Manager ensures all workers are being held responsible for the care and regular cleaning of company provided equipment.
- **Ordering & Delivery of Project Materials**
- The timely and cost-effective ordering and delivery of materials is the Production Managers responsibility. Understanding the needs of each site and daily communication with each site foreman will help to ensure necessary materials are on-site as needed.

**Qualifications**:

- 5 years verifiable experience as a Project/Production Manager in the construction industry (preference given for trade contractor experience).
- Fully vaccinated with a Government of Canada approved COVID-19 vaccine.
- Possess and maintain a clean drivers license.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Exceptional problem solving skills.
- Better than average computer skills.

**Salary**: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
