Dream Office REIT is currently looking for a Painter at the historic Distillery District who is ready to work hard and is enthusiastic, self-motivated, and willing to learn.

**What will you do?**

Below are some of the primary responsibilities you will be taking on in this role. There will be more, but we can discuss those in person.
- Applies protective and decorative coats of paint, varnish, lacquer, and/or other related materials to interior and exterior surfaces of buildings, equipment, and other structures
- Cleans equipment, paint mixing area, and work area
- Operated compressors, striping machines, sandblasters, spray equipment, and other small power equipment
- Installs, repairs, and maintains drywall, wall texturing, and ceiling acoustic texturing
- Erects various types of scaffolding, staging, ladders, and planks to reach surfaces of work are in a safe manner
- Applies paints, stains, surface preparatory materials, and undercoating materials to a variety of surfaces, as appropriate, and according to Materials Safety Data Sheets ensuring compliance with hazardous materials guidelines
- Responsible for managing annual painting budget
- Other duties as assigned

There are also some physical requirements associated with this job. Here are some of the things we’ll need you to confirm you can do:

- Able to work in confined spaces
- Bending, twisting, crouching, climbing, and reaching
- Move and lift heavy equipment and supplies
- A combination of walking, standing, and sitting
- Working indoors and outdoors year-round

**What type of experience and skills do you have?**

These are only some of the things we’d like you to bring to the table. We can cover the rest when we meet.
- Multiple years of on-the-job experience, or a mix of job experience and related skills training
- Plans and develops work schedules, equipment usages schedules, and procedures for equipment maintenance
- Determines material and labor estimates
- Knowledge of all applicable codes, standards, and regulations, life safety equipment operation, hazardous materials handling safety procedures, asbestos abatement, and scaffold safety
- You are familiar with safety and fire codes and WHMIS procedures
- You are proactive in finding problems and solving them
- You are a team player but can work on your own, and
- You have solid computer and communication skills
