Estimator - Commercial Printing Experience a Must

To be considered for this role, you are an Estimator within the Commercial Print Industry and/or have experience and are familiar with commercial print products, services, equipment, terminology and manufacturing processes.
In constant contact with our sales team and the Production Coordinators, the **Estimato**r is responsible for providing timely “best practice” estimates for all the product and services Lowe-Martin offers.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Develop a strong working knowledge of the estimating software used at LM.
- Develop detailed estimating knowledge of all the production equipment/procedures used at LM.
- Maintain a working knowledge of industry trends and competitive factors affecting LM.
- Act as a resource to the sales team on complex products requiring specific knowledge.
- Develop a strong knowledge of new technologies and processes. (I.e.: Digital Imaging, prepress)
- Participate in the evaluation of suppliers and sub-contractors.
- Support company programs designed to ensure our overall competitiveness. (i.e.: paper programs)
- Assist other estimators to ensure we maintain high output levels.
- Assist in providing training and orientation to new hires as well as existing personnel, focusing on the distinctive competencies being built at LM.
- Assist in the development of new product designs (i.e.: establishing rates and standards)
- Assist in identifying information and resource gaps in sales and estimating departments in order to determine training needs regarding new processes and equipment.
- Provide advice and recommendations on internal procedures and processes as part of a continuous improvement process.
- Previous experience working with ePace is a definite asset.
**MUST HAVES**:
- ** To be considered, you have a minimum of at least 3 years direct work experience** in a commercial print environment or creative agency.**:
- Familiarity with MIS software.
- Proficient understanding of Microsoft Office including MS Access, Excel and Word.
- Very strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and in a team oriented collaborative environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products.
- Customer service skills an asset.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
- Meticulous, detailed & accurate
$50,000 to $60,000 annual salary, depending on experience.
