Investment Oversight Manager

Salary between
- National - £45,000-£55,000

London - £55,000 - £65,000

An excellent opportunity has arisen within Aviva’s UKL Investments team, who currently help to drive improved outcomes for our customers either directly via protecting and growing customer assets or indirectly via ensuring strong shareholder outcomes that support ability to pay future claims.

Within UKL Investments, the Governance and Change team is responsible for the operational oversight of our investment management and custodian relationships.

This role can be based in York or London. There is likely to be some travel to the other location, although this is not extensive and can be flexibly managed by the individual.

A bit about the job:
This role is focussed on operational oversight of investment managers (Aviva Investors (AI) and 3rd parties) and custodians, ensuring that UKL operates robust oversight, governance and risk management processes over the investment management activities that are being undertaken. This activity is critical to managing the operational risks that are inherent in investment management, and therefore to protecting customer and shareholder interests.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

- Understanding of investment management, investment process and operations, and the associated regulatory risks.
- Experience of supplier management / oversight, and the associated operational and regulatory risks.
- Experience of managing operational risk and implementing controls solutions.
- Ability to learn new areas quickly and to work independently.
- Strong communication skills (written and oral), including the ability to present complex issues clearly and succinctly.
