**Position Title**: Processing Operator

**Shift/Hours**: Afternoon Shift; 3:00pm to 11:00pm

**Location**: Guelph, ON

**Reports to**: Production Supervisor

**Scope for the position**:

- Weigh and blends materials; operates processing machines; makes machine adjustments as necessary to ensure optimum speed and quality of capsule filling operations

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Reads job tickets to determine machine adjustments and material requirement; sets stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or template
- Weigh and blend materials for encapsulating
- Run machine and monitor for defects or machine malfunction
- Inspects finish goods for any defects
- Performs in-process checks regularly
- Performs basic trouble shooting and make adjustments as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned

**Required qualifications, education, experience, training, skills, background, and certifications**:

- Highschool Diploma
- 1-2 years of experience, working in the food industry is considered an asset
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Effectively communicate in both written and verbal
- Ability to work through and problem solve issues involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- The employee must regularly lift and move up to 50lbs safely
