**Resident Support Worker**

Grove Park Home is a not for profit and charitable organization that is comprised of 143 Long Term Care Beds, a boutique retirement property, and an Adult Day Program. **QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION**:

- Minimum grade eleven or equivalent - mandatory
- Valid Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Experience working with the elderly or in a healthcare setting - an asset

**KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES**:

- Capable of working in a fast paced, team environment
- Ability to work with a complex and diverse elderly population including chronic illness and functional and cognitive impairments.
- Communicate with others in an effective, compassionate and supportive manner

**DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO**:

- Giving assistance throughout meal service by providing feeding support to residents
- Assistance in transporting residents as required throughout the building
- Providing 1 to 1 support and companionship to residents
- Assistance with Resident activities
- Bed changes, garbage collection, stocking of carts
- Sanitizing/disinfecting visiting and common areas throughout the building
- Delivering of mail and packages

**HOURS OF WORK**
- This position is scheduled for 11am to 7pm (must be able to work with this scheduled timeframe)
- Scheduled hours are 30 hours every two weeks and include every other Saturday and Sunday
- There is opportunity to pick up additional shifts when available but this is not guaranteed

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 15 per week

**Salary**: From $18.66 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Barrie, ON L4M 4H5: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)
