This is an ideal position for a recent graduate of a Personal Support Worker, DSW or SSW Program. This position will allow you to gain experience working with a marginalized population with a history of chronic homelessness, involved in the criminal justice system, diagnosed with mental health illness, and struggling with addiction.

The Personal Support Worker is responsible for providing basic care and support to the resident in a safe and comfortable environment. The Personal Support Worker, along with the other employees at Murray's Windermere Gardens, will work closely with the people they care for to provide their communities with the highest level of quality care.

**Qualifications**:

- **Must have PSW certificate, nursing background or other related experience.**:

- Completion of an extensive background check. Pass an “Enhanced Reliability Security” check.
- Must be First Aid/CPR certified.
- Immunizations including Tuberculosis and COVID vaccinations must be up to date.
- Ability to lift at least 40 pounds, stand for long periods of time, sit, walk, bend, kneel, push, pull, and repetitive motions.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
- Ability to adapt to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Ability to adapt to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.

**Positions**:
Hiring for the following shifts to start working immediately:
1 Casual/Relief PSW/Support Worker

Weekends Days, Evenings, Weekends

7:00AM-1:00PM

5:00PM-9:00PM

**Responsibilities**:

- Onsite training provided.
- Communicate before and after shift of any significant events in writing and verbally upon shift change.
- Read and sign off on all logbooks and record books.
- Record and report all pertinent information as per policy and procedure.
- Reporting incidents, resident concerns, health and safety hazards, workplace accidents, bed bugs/pandemics and maintenance/repairs to Assistant Executive Director or designate, immediately.
- Provides cuing and basic personal care to the resident.
- Aids with a variety of household tasks.
- Provides cognitive, social and/or emotional support to the resident.
- Provide direction, queuing, and assistance to residents regarding personal care. This may include but is not limited to the following: bathing, incontinence maintenance, nail trimming, hair trimming et al.
- Cue residents for every medication pass and take them to get their medication.
- Report medication noncompliance to the supervisor on duty.
- Attend all staff meetings and training as directed by Assistant Executive Director or Designate.
- Fill out time sheets for shifts worked. Overtime hours must be approved by the Assistant Executive Director or Designate.

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $17.00-$19.00 per hour
