Visiting Volunteer

ALL APPLICANTS TO LIVE IN ELGIN COUNTY OR SURROUNDING AREA.
**Do you have an extra hour a week? Looking for a rewarding volunteer experience?**
The Victorian Order of Nurses are looking for individuals to assist in the visiting program.
**WHAT IS THE VISITING PROGRAM**
Developed to reduce social isolation for seniors while also providing support and care, volunteers are matched with clients and meet for a minimum of an hour/week. Location and schedule are flexible.
**FRIENDLY VISITING** - a volunteer and client matched based on interest. This is a social program.
**DEMENTIA VISITING** - a volunteer is matched with a client who has dementia. This match proved simulation for the client and respite for the caregiver. Additional training provided.
**SUPPORTIVE CARE PEER SUPPORT** - Volunteers are matched with clients working though grief or hospice. This is a peer support program and additional training is provided.
