Indigenous Outreach Coordinator (Part Time)
YMCA Calgary
Start Date:Immediately

**Salary**: $16.40/hr - $20.15/hr

What qualifications are we looking for?
- A passion for working with Indigenous children and youth.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in working with Indigenous peoples and communities.
- Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous history and worldview.
- Cultural knowledge and experience working with Elders and Cultural Advisors
- Experience in curriculum development and lesson planning
- Reliability and an understanding of the importance of time management
- Willing to work independently and within a team environment.
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Current Standard First Aid with CPR-C certificated within the last 12 months from an approved AB OHS provider. Asset if certification is issued by one of the following five Canadian organizations: Canadian Red Cross, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Lifesaving Society, St John's Ambulance and/or Canadian Ski Patrol.
- Evidence of a clear Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Search
- Three professional references

What does this role look like at YMCA Calgary?

Duties and responsibilities include:

- Be available for programs afterschool and in the evening in the North Zone.
- Assist in coordinating and implementing the delivery of programs to meet the needs of Indigenous school
- aged children and youth ensuring educational, cultural and social goals are met.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of participants at all times.
- Maintain positive relationships with school staff.
- Administrative duties.
- Promote cross-cultural understanding.
- Other department or association duties as required.
