**Job description**

Kinnect Support Services is a social services partner that provides trained staff support to various organizations in need of relief staff. Our team offers superior support to Catholic School Board that work with adolescents youth, who experience behavioral, social, emotional, physical, and psychiatric difficulties.

**Areas of Service**:
Toronto-GTA

**General Overview**

Development Support Worker will need to support students in skill development, self-management, Life Skills and problem solving to improve academic achievement. Programs are developed to meet the individual needs of each student.

**Work Responsibilities**:

- Develop and provide individual behaviour management programs for students in consultation with the classroom teacher.
- Provide assistance for students in the acquisition, reinforcement and maintenance of academic, communication and social skill.
- Support individuals in achieving their full potential by facilitating relationships, skills and roles which promote people’s participation as valued members of their community.
- Have an understanding of supporting individuals with complex support needs in a sensitive and respectful manner, in all areas of their lives.
- Duties will include daily routines, recreation, behavioral management, and presenting life skills education.
- **Qualifications**:_

You must have:

- Must have a reliable source of transportation
- Must be a graduate from a recognized College with a **Development Support Worker Diploma**.
- Level 1 First Aid / CPR Certificate.
- Must have valid crisis training**:CPI or willingness to obtain.**:

- Experience working with Autism, Mental Health Behavioral, and Developmental Delayed clients in a Group Home Setting
- A current Police Reference Check or willing to get a Vulnerable Sector Criminal reference check.
- Considerable experience working in a transitional house setting.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Casual

**Salary**: $20.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift

Licence/Certification:

- CPR Certification (required)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) (required)
